update on my summer goals

is it already the end of july august (ughh- i've been trying to write this post for a couple of weeks now. sorry i suck at updating!)?? this month has been insane for me. but i'm still trying to get through my summer goals. here's an update of my progress...

  • read 3 books: 1 non-fiction, 1 fiction, 1 christian
  • go to at least 3 group exercise classes-  for whatever reason, i'm too shy to walk into a class =/ (I can't believe I crossed this off my list before the others!)
  • organize my insane walk-in closet (meaning throw away/donate a lot of useless crap)- anyone need notepads from hallmark??
  • plan a trip to new york and europe (i'm so excited to eat halallllll!!!!)
  • decorate my bare walls- now that i've decided to stay in my awesome apt, it's time to make it look more "lived in"
from kathy's list:
  • learn to do something new
  • no jeans for a week
  • take a road trip (this is kinda hard.. since i don't have a car. but i'm hoping to take a road trip this summer! anyone wanna take a roadtrip with me?)
  • host a summer dinner party
  • take a picture every hour of a fun or normal day

i will try to post pictures soon. how are your goals coming along?

but i will leave you with this one snapshot. this is the first picture i took of the golden gate bridge when i moved here 4 years ago. i can't believe i've been in SF for 4 years now. what's next?

"i LOVE baseball." (did i just say that??)

i never thought i'd say that i love baseball. for most of my life, i only followed the lakers. i thought basketball was more exciting and more interesting than any other sport. even though football is absolutely exciting, i never felt connected to any specific team. so, it was merely a social sport for me-- which means, i watch it while hanging out with friends.

but when i was kid, i used to spend hours upon hours "playing" with my brother's baseball cards. and when i say play with them, it means organizing about 1000 cards based on teams/positions. or alphabetizing them by team or within divisions. or organizing them based on rbi's. or deciding which player was the cutest (hey~ i'm a girl afterall). that's how i "played" with baseball cards. haha. so, i think i've always had a deep love and appreciation for the game. it just stayed dormant inside for many years.

and now, i'm a full-fledged fan of the game, specifically a fan of the SF Giants. (family, please stop threatening me. i love you even though you are dodger fans. hee hee.) and i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE going to a live baseball game. it's really on my "top 5 things i love to do in sf" list. since i've only been to 3 stadiums (the giants, the dodgers & the angels) in my life, i'd really love to travel across the US and visit as many stadiums as possible. wrigley, fenway, new york (yankees), pittsburg, and san diego are the top 5 on my list right now. (any other recommendations??) but it's at at&t park where i fell in love with the game. not only is the stadium beautiful, but the food is ahhmazing! even forbes thinks at&t park is the best! (http://www.forbes.com/2009/04/14/best-baseball-stadiums-lifestyle-sports-baseball-stadiums.html)

i won't even start on how invested i am in the players. with shows like "the franchise" and blogs that help me stay connected with the players, it's hard not to feel super connected and to think of them as people i personally know. it's like when you get so invested in a tv show and start talking about the characters as if they were your friends. that's how i feel about the giants.

so, i just wanted to share a few pictures from some of the games i've attended this year. sadly, i've only been to 7 games this season and it's already halfway over. so, if anyone ever wants to go to a game and needs a buddy, let me know! =)

opening night! world champion giants get their rings!!

awesome 4th of july weekend!

this is my first 4th of july weekend in san francisco that the sky was clear and the weather was amazing!! unfortunately, the only fireworks i got to see were the ones of the freeway on our drive back to the city. but that's ok, cause it was a wonderful weekend full of awesome weather, amazing people and delicious food!

kicked off the long weekend at epic for 4 hours of happy hour! we were happy, indeed!! i love it when different friends come together to just enjoy a glass of wine and get to know each other. yay for a beautiful day! "matinee!!!" =)

then after dinner at playground (*i realized that i'm a bad foodographer because i get so excited when the food arrives that i forget to take pics of it. i just start digging in!!), we headed to the marina for more drinks and lounging. this was on our way to 3-cha (round 3) in mel's convertible. it was a beautiful night!!

day 2 of my awesome weekend... gluttony continues at "bbq" #1:

*see note above about being a bad foodographer... but, i promise, there was lots of drinking and eating! kalbi cheem, kimchi bokkup bap, chigae, banchan, yummmmm!

bbq #2: rooftop bbq for leah & ryan (*tear!!)
again, i failed to get pictures of the INSANE food sharon (and arthur & gang) cooked for all of us. it included super tender ribs, crack corn, tri-tip, mango salsa (SOOO good!), beet salad, cole slaw, garlic bread... SANGRIA! the night ended with multiple games of mafia. even when i'm watching them play, this game stresses me out. here are some pictures of the awesome day though!

this is me, being patriotic. =)

we'll miss you dearly, yokes!

thanks ng's for being such awesome hosts!!

i don't remember what these were called, but it's buttery goodness filled with cheese and ham. DROOL!

flag cake!!

chocolate-pecan goodness!!

yay for gorilla tripods!

LAST (but definitely not least) bbq of the weekend:

went to my friend's parent's house in the peninsula for a relaxing evening among fun friends and a ridiculous amount of YUMMMY food:

shakeweight... awkward...

this was their attempt to pose gangster. i don't think mark, ted or drew got the message...

this is our soccer team picture! =)

AND i didn't forget to take a picture of my food! doesn't this plate look ridiculous??? they also had 7 types of desserts for after dinner.

what a beautiful weekend...
